Famous TV and Movie Houses in Los Angeles

The exterior scenes of the Bueller house were among the ones filmed on the West Coast. This house is within walking distance from Fox Studios where the show was filmed so that worked out well for them. The Happy Days House is located near Paramount Studios where the show was filmed. I visited Garry Marshall’s grave the day after I came to see this house so it felt like a very full-circle moment. The Brady Bunch House has been one of the most exciting homes that I have visited so far.

This home feels the most private in the sense that all of the other homes on the list are easily visible from the street and sidewalk. In this case, you do have to walk to the gate in order to see the house. This list will continue to be updated as I visit more filming locations.

There are actually two homes that you can visit that were used in the movie. Can’t you just picture Franck and his team adding all of the finishing touches for the wedding reception? You can also visit the home used for the basketball scenes in Alhambra. Many different versions of the film exist on various DVD and VHS releases struck from different cuts of the film, many of them from different countries.

The Happy Days house is at 565 North Cahuenga Boulevard. Used in both the original 1991 and the 1995 sequel of the film Father of the Bride, starring Steve Martin, the Father of the Bride house still looks like it did in the films. While Martin's character claims he lives in San Marino, the Father of the Bride house is actually located in Pasadena at 843 S. According to iamnostalker.com, the filmmakers had to fix up the Father of the Bride house before they started shooting.

The house from Last Man Standing is in the Windsor Square neighborhood and while that is not DTLA I am going to group them together. It is semi-close to The Grove if you want to stop by on a visit over there. Brandon and Brenda Walsh did not actually live in the zip code or Beverly Hills. The beautiful house looks just like it did on the show. Parking to take a photo at this particular home was not as easy as some of the others. The street is not very wide so you cannot pull off to the side very easily.

Happy Days House

The original script by Alleca included elements of supernatural horror, which prompted the studio to reject it and bring in Ellsworth for rewrites. Principal photography began in March 2008 in Cape Town and Helderberg Nature Reserve and concluded in May. The Last House on the Left was theatrically released in the United States on March 13, 2009, and was a modest box office success, grossing $46 million against its $15 million budget. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with several deeming it worthy of praise in comparison to other horror films and remakes in general, while others considered it inferior to the original.

Settings

In the 2005 film, it was so reprehensibly and lingeringly sadistic, I found it unforgivable. So now my job as a film critic involved grading rape scenes. A retro mansion atop a hill in Echo Park, this place has a lot of retro character and vintage vibes.

The show Charmed is set in San Francisco which has plenty of great Victorian-style houses, but the house is actually in Los Angeles. The home of the Halliwell family in the television series is located at 1329 Carroll, near Dodger Stadium in a neighborhood of similar houses. According to the series, the Charmed house was built in 1898, which may be close, according to a historic plaque mounted across the street. The Brothers & Sisters house is the home of Nora Walker (Sally Field) in the ABC series. It's located in a lovely Pasadena neighborhood at 1640 Lombardy Road, near the Langham Huntington Hotel. Brothers & Sisters premiered in 2006, a story about a California family who own the fictional Ojai Foods company.

Famous TV and Movie Houses in Los Angeles That Are A Must See

The outdoor patio area looks straight out of the tropics, adding a very vibrant and bright tone to your film. There’s even an outdoor pool area which fits in perfectly with the surroundings — and lends itself perfectly for the camera. An oddity of the ages, entering this pseudo-neglected loft is like taking a step into the past. A true product of a time bygone, the plot is even furnished with vintage decor and furniture. Styled to look from the 1920’s, there’s plenty of exposed beams which capture the rustic aura perfectly.

It kicks you right in the face on the some of the sequences actually.

But, I can’t pass up the opportunity to visit a famous filming location. The Mad Men house is actually walking distance from the Father Of The Bride house. The Last House on the Left is directed by Dennis Iliadis and adapted to screenplay by Adam Alleca and Carl Ellsworth from the story by Wes Craven (co-producer here). Music is by John Murphy and cinematography by Sharone Meir. Not many unseasoned audience members will find the 2009 rape scene "toned down," and indeed I found it painful to watch.
